Korean cuisine is one of my favorite cuisines out there. The flavors, vegetables, and spiciness make it unique and satiating. I also find that Korean cuisine can be made vegan-friendly quite easily. This recipe is a Korean-inspired burger recipe with flavors from Kimchi and Gochujang.
Kimchi burgers served with a side of fries and gochujang mayo |
In a small bow, mix your gochujang and mayonnaise. Cover with film and set in fridge for burger assembly. This will be the sauce on your burger and also a very good dipping sauce if you have fries on the side. Take 1 oz of Beyond Plant-Based Ground Beef and break into two equal parts. Roll up them up into separate balls. Then place one of them on a hot pan, pressing it down with a spatula. You are going smash burgers so they are nice and crispy. Let the burger cook on medium heat on one side for about 2 minutes and flip over. Then place one piece of cheese and cover until the cheese begins to melt. Then remove the patty and set aside. Do the same thing for the other part of the ground "beef."
Once the patties have been cooked and the cheese has been melted, place them on the bottom burger bun. Top with your Kimchi and spinach leaves. Then spread your burger sauce on the top bun and place. Serve the burger with fries or a side of your choice. Let me know what you think of the recipe in the comments below!
