Easy Spaghetti and Meatballs

I have created a few items containing meatballs so far. These include Italian wedding soup, and Swedish meatballs. This recipe is specifically for delicious Italian meatballs with spaghetti, a classic meal that is easy to make, delicious, and filling.

Classic Italian-style spaghetti and meatballs with plant-based ground beef

1 package plant-based ground beef (I used Impossible meat)
1 tbsp italian seasoning
1 tbsp basil
1 tbsp oregano
3 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp aquafaba
1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 box spaghetti
1 jar pasta sauce (or use homemade)
1 cup pasta water (set aside while your pasta is cooking)

1. In a small mixing bowl, add bread crumbs and aquafaba. Set it aside and let the breadcrumbs slightly soak in the chickpea water.

2. In a separate bowl, add your ground beef, Italian seasoning, basil, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands to mix them up. Then incorporate the soaked breadcrumbs and use your hand to mix thoroughly.

3. Use your hands to create meatballs that are 1½ inches in diameter. and place in the fridge for about 10 minutes.

4. As your meatballs firm up in the fridge, bring a pot of water to boil and add your spaghetti to cook according to package directions (approximately 6-8 minutes).

5. Then remove your meatballs from the fridge and place them in a saucepan on medium heat. Begin to let them brown and flip over once they are brown on once side.

4. Pour in your sauce once the meatballs have browned. Also add about a 1/2 cup of pasta water to allow the sauce to reduce. This will continue to cook your meatballs in the sauce to incorporate all the flavors.

5. Once the sauce has reduced. strain your spaghetti and add it to your sauce. Mix thoroughly and let it cook for about 2 minutes. Feel free to add a little bit of pasta water, if it is too thick.

6. Once everything has been incorporated, serve with garlic bread or other sides and enjoy!
